Funding Support

Association funding comes from several sources including membership and other fees, grants from funding agencies, sale of publications and consultancy services.

The Organic Farming Association has been formed with several objectives, most of which deal with the promotion of natural, organic, sustainable agriculture in India and elsewhere

  1. Membership fees received annually.
  2. Payment charges for farm appraisal visits and use of label fees.
  3. MISEREOR, for general association infrastructure, meetings, organic training schools, study tours, translations. MISEREOR through IFOAM sponsored the visit of two OFAI members to South Korea for an IFOAM conference in 2004.
  4. Consultancy fees.
  5. Sale of certified organic seed.
  6. Sale of publications.

The association and its members would much prefer support in the form of purchase of organic farming produce and processed organic foods from its members. Suppliers of organic farming produce verified by OFAI are to be found elsewhere on this website.

The association does not provide grants to any of its organic farming members or for their farms as such external support is neither required nor solicited.

The association will continue to seek (and welcomes) support to enable more and more conventional farmers to switch to organic farming methods. Some of this support is being solicited from the government of India and other official bodies who are now keen to support organic farming in view of its export potential. Other support is being sought, as and when required, from private organisations and foundations both in India and abroad.

Unsolicited contributions to the association for its work to promote organic farming are welcome. Send us an email and we shall send you our banking details.

Thank you!
